In the end it not only reports about storms in the North Atlantic, people who live on Greenland, some of whom became real friends, the beauty of the Arctic nature and the fascination of remoteness . No, in the end it is also a depiction of a social experiment: two men who couldn't be more different sail and live for weeks under sometimes extreme conditions. At the beginning of June they started as a celebrated team on the “Nis Randers” – and just a few days later, Bernd Alexander Mansholt thought he was making a really good joke when his fellow sailor talked about giving up and getting out.
But it wasn't a joke. Three months later, Mansholt returned to Germany as a single-handed sailor. Enriched by the incredibly diverse world of ice, matured by his success as a solo sailor and enriched by far more than one experience, he gifts the reader not only with his story and his humor, but above all with impressive photos of a magnificent journey.
